Qualifications

Apprentices at Greenfield Engineering work on a rotation basis spending up to 3 months at a time working in the main production and support areas of the business including Punching & Laser Cutting, Press Brake & Panel Bending, Welding & Fabrication, Powder Coat Painting, Product Assembly & Packing and Computer Aided Design (CAD). Here they learn their core engineering skills and a broad knowledge of the business, machinery & equipment, customer base and the market sectors that we work with.

Working in conjunction with our training co-ordinator the apprentices spend four days per week in the workplace learning sheet metal skills, gathering real workplace evidence to complete an NVQ 3 portfolio of work and one day a week attending Petroc College working towards their academic qualifications.

The awarding body for the apprenticeship scheme is EAL (Excellence, Achievement & Learning) and there are two training paths that the apprentices can follow.
