I’ve never been an academic, but my burning ambition from school was always to be an engineer. The choice of which career that most young students have to make is always difficult, so I feel extra lucky to have known what I wanted to do from an early age. I have over the years come to see engineering as a discipline that we never really master. Only that we just continually are developing throughout our careers. Nowadays automation plays a pivotal role in manufacturing and I’m pleased to see Greenfield embracing the introduction of the latest technologies throughout the business.
My interests outside of work are widely varied covering everything from my enjoyment of classic sports cars to visiting National Trust historic buildings. Many people spend so much time looking down at the floor where I enjoy looking up at the varied architecture of our old buildings. Finally the love of my life next to Michelle is our first granddaughter which we spend many happy hours all together.
“If I were to describe the business in just a couple of words it would definitely be….. Ambitious & Focused!!”
I have always believed in keeping focused on the numbers as the devil is in the detail. The initial business idea for starting the company was mine as I remember telling Frank we should set up our own Engineering company. I always knew we could and Frank had the drive and ability to make it successful he just didn’t know it at that time!! Most of the major investments we’ve made have helped the business grow and in turn win more new business.
Having the total responsibility for all aspects of the businesses finances makes the role the most important part of the operation, as it’s the heart of the organisation.
When I’m not at my desk I enjoy spending time at home, reading, walking and especially spending time with our granddaughter in the garden and the beach.
As one of the very first apprentices at Greenfield I have played a pivotal role within the company from those early days. I’m now part of the senior management, overseeing the company’s strategic development and taking the business onto the next level. Further developing the structure with the philosophy and principles of strengthening our own engineering team across the company.
We have the ability to demonstrate a passion for delivering sheet metal to our customers and a strong culture to ensure the operational targets and high standards are continually maintained.
I’m a keen golfer and love blasting around the North Cornish coast on my jet ski.
I believe in addition to the many management qualifications I have gained during my years in engineering that these work hand in hand with my honesty, integrity and respect. Above all I have a desire and internal drive to achieve everything I can and deliver the best results.
In my personal life, I have two sons who are both independently successful and I’m a husband to a beautiful supporting wife.
My main goal in life now is to take the business onto a higher level and become the very best we can as a sheet metal contractor.
I’m pleased to find myself now using my sheet metal skills in a totally different way from my early engineering years. My ambition is to make an impact on future customers as they will see I’m passionate about Greenfield Engineering and what we can offer customers to help their businesses grow and develop. After being involved in all elements of the sheet metal manufacturing process I have the opportunity to create and sustain new business relationships with clients across the different industries we service.
Armed with the knowledge to promote Greenfield’s advanced manufacturing technologies to wider manufacturing sector, I hope to make an impact and continuing contribution to business development.
Out of work I have a young growing family which is a full time role in itself, so hobbies are on the back burner for the time being, but I occasionally get the chance to enjoy a bit golf and squash.
Everything has the ability to be improved in some way, from the use of different materials, construction to shape and functionality of the finished product. When I look at the project or the component with customers I often see possible ideas on improvements using our advanced manufacturing methods. We can assess their current design and see if it can be improved or enhanced. Usually looking at the brief from a different prospective than the customer.
I’ve worked on many amazing projects over the years from bespoke high end office furniture which have won major awards for the design to product point of sale displays for leading household names.
In my free time, I enjoying cycling and running. I have three young daughters and along with my wife I can never get in the bathroom!!
Throughout my apprenticeship I gained and developed many sheet metal skills on the shop floor which I rely on and have transferred into designing. I understand that when applying the design process whether it’s for office, industrial, commercial environments I have the technique which enables me to produce a unique and creative product that looks attractive and reflects the clients brief.
For some time a hobby and major interest has been cycling, or when I’m home with my wife usually getting ready to taxi my two daughters to gymnastics, swimming.
I’m an adaptable and articulate engineer with sixteen years’ experience in sheet metal process manufacturing in industrial and van storage. During that time I have been a welder then moved onto setting and operating both turret punches and press-brakes before being moved into the drawing office. I have excellent 3D drawing and programming skills on Radan software. I am able to interact with my work colleagues at all engineering levels on any issues that might arise on a daily basis. I am part of the material planning team and one of the point of contacts responsible for the scheduling and smooth running of Greenfields three automated CNC turret punching machines, and the fibre laser coordinating and prioritising workloads to production on varying demand. I cope extremely well under pressure with the responsibility for the running of the punching/laser cells which is an exciting challenge.
I’m passionate about general fitness and physical training, I enjoy many hobbies from paddle-boarding in the summer to photography and mountain bike trial riding on specialised trails around the country. Finally, I enjoy going to as many home games as possible supporting Plymouth Argyle.
I’m a conscientious Health & Safety Manager with a proven track record in engineering and facilities management for the past 17 years.
I’m a self-motivated person with strong safety awareness combined with a detailed knowledge of current HSE regulations and legislation. I’m very proactive with a positive attitude, with communication being very important to getting the safety message across to the workforce at Greenfield. I monitor the changing processes within the company and work with the teams to develop the safe working systems and practices.
I do this as an on-going review process with specific staff training covering, awareness of risk through assessment and corrective action for the well-being and general personal safety of all.
In my spare time I coach a football youth team in North Devon which I enjoy, and when I’m not doing that I spend time with my wife & family.
I’m a highly efficient, methodical quality assurance engineer who has considerable experience of developing, implementing and maintaining effective quality control processes and systems. As a well organised professional with a proven track record (over 14 years’ experience) in sheet metal manufacturing and a production assembly environment. With the ability to be self-motivated and work to set schedules and the tightest deadlines with a strong customer focus. I have a proactive approach to quality, and a strong problem solving mind-set gained through all my experience within the sheet metal industry coupled with a strong passion for “right first time”
The key responsibility is for monitoring our internal quality compliance targets, ensuring we continually meet high standards of quality across the business and all QA records and data are available to senior managers and team leaders to analyse. Finally, I support manufacturing giving specialist advice and training across all company departments as required.
Outside of work I enjoy football and still play to a high standard for a local football team. I’ve also recently converted my garage into a gym were I keep myself fit. I’m married with two young boys and they are already loving sport like me. Most weekends are spent on the beach, teaching the boys to surf we all enjoy the outdoors lifestyle.
I’m a multi-skilled, adaptable maintenance engineer with over 10 years’ experience in Greenfield Engineering. I have excellent diagnostics knowledge, having filled several senior roles which has included back filling and supporting the previous maintenance team within the company over their continued expansion. I am able to interact with any team, I have good fault-finding skills and the ability in problem-solving. Irrespective of any issues that might arise I keep a cool head and methodically eliminate potential faults till I get to the route course.
I am the point of contact responsible for uptime of all factory equipment, coordinating and prioritising planned preventative maintenance schedules with the production managers to diagnostics on faults or breakdowns communicating issues which will impact on manufacturing production demand. Always operating in best practice and in accordance to Health & Safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
When not at work I’m passionate about, angling locally, as you can find many local rivers to provide a good challenge. I also spend a lot of time with the family on the beach and body board with my brothers in the summer months.
Having grown up in an engineering environment I have always aspired to become one myself. My passion for engineering/design dates back to when I was coming up to my final years at school with an aptitude for mathematics and physics which enabled me to excel in science subjects at GCSE then onto A level. I was also interested in all aspects of the design process. I was selected and embarked on a project to make from scratch a Newtonian Refracting Telescope when I was 13 for which I won a design scholarship. When fully made you could see far into the solar system.
Seeing our family business grow made me particularly aware of manufacturing and the way a supply chain works. It also intrigued me how new technology introduced into a business can help the business compete against low wage economies. Upon finishing my apprenticeship, I became the Cell lead in assembly and dispatch with an 8-10 man team contributing to over 2million pounds of the company’s annual turnover. I now manage operations at the company and head up all procurement for the business.
Outside work I enjoy spending quality time with my young daughter and wife on the beach very near to our home. I have a passion for rugby, surfing, road cycling with the occasional game of golf when I have time.
As production manager I effectively lead and manage the manufacturing teams across the business to accomplish operational objectives. To coordinate the work flow of the fast-paced, multi-line manufacturing cells to hit multiple priorities and daily production schedules I take the overall responsibility to oversee all manufacturing processes, and production output on two independent sites. Working closely with the design team to ensure smooth new product introduction and strategic planning and execution of development projects before production rollout.
Putting a lot of emphasis on managing the team leaders giving them the support to make the right decisions under pressure is a great way to develop individuals. I’m part of the management team that implements our internal training programme to develop the production staff.
My interests outside of work are Music and the Automotive industry as a whole. I have been a social golfer since the age of 13 and I have a passion to travel the globe by road.
As an experienced shift manger for 4 years I now embark on a new challenge of Production Manager I am able to ensure that business requirements are consistently met. Part of my role is identifying operational issues that might arise and working with the rest of the management team and team leaders to overcome them. I’m predominantly based within the business around our powder plants & assembly across both sites including warehousing and dispatch. I have a professional approach and the ability to make sound professional decisions based around production’s needs.
Outside of work interests, I enjoy training and keeping fit as well as travelling. I have visited every continent and struggle to name a favourite location of mine but I’m well at home on the North Cornish Coast. I enjoy food and fine wine, water-sports and watching rugby at all levels with my brother.
I enjoy jointly heading up and being an important link with a successful team that thrives on challenging second shift production conditions. I enjoy working within tight operational situations which I can plan the decision-making to overcome the common problem of deadlines and production issues. I have extensive experience in sheet metal production design, and I can demonstrate a strong understanding of all routes of manufacture when discussing customers’ products and timelines. Liaising on a day to day basis with team leaders to ensure production requirements match capacity, reflect skills, and equipment loading.
The skill set I have from Greenfield’s apprenticeship programme help me to develop off the shop floor into the office as a Production Design Engineer for the last few years and now into a new challenge of Second Shift Manager.
In my spare time I play a high standard of football and enjoy competing in motocross. My girlfriend and I have just bought our first house and are in the process of developing it into our first home.
As a positive, dynamic and fully energised joint shift manager I am able to ensure that business requirements are consistently met. I conduct daily shift handover briefings, identifying operational issues that might arise. I have the drive and passion always to put customer service at the heart of my decision making, with a ‘can do’ attitude and always willing to go that extra mile to deliver. I have a professional approach and the ability to act independently to make sound professional decisions in difficult situations.
I believe I found my niche in the business as a Material Planning lead and I’m looking forward to further developing myself within the management of the business on the second shift.
My main interests outside of the work environment are keeping fit in the gym, watching and playing football and socialising with friends.
I’m versatile, motivated and very disciplined planner with hands on managerial experience. Having worked as a production planner for several leading manufacturing organisations in several market sectors I bring a core skill of being very hands on. The need to ensure an effective strength in the supply chain for internal production resources to deliver the required result. The main area of focus is developing our operational systems and improve data collection achieving the business operational KPI targets. Using a clear strategy on manufacturing support information to allow efficient scheduling and execution to meet customer demand. We consistently set ourselves apart from other businesses and aim to be as flexible with the delivery, stocking, and flow of materials improving delivery performance. I manage the balance workflow efficiently through the site via various manufacturing processes while keeping customers up to date on deadlines.
When not in work I enjoy watching most sport on TV and like walking to the local pub! My hobbies include playing in the local brass band and socialising with friends.
I have a twenty five years accomplished background in international group finance and the complexities of commercial business. I’m very much aware of the importance of developing and interrogating financial reports accurately, gathering information and being able to analyse this data throughout all departments of the business. Maintaining an effective system is paramount for business success. My technical skills ensure a meticulous approach to achieve results from all management accounts. I thrive on working under pressure, meeting deadlines while maintaining absolute accuracy.
When I’m not at work I enjoy walking the dogs and working alongside my husband renovating our new home.
