Frank Green is to step aside as managing director of Greenfield Engineering at the end of the year after almost 29 years managing the business.
He will hand the reins to Gary Burnard the current Operations Director who has himself been with the company 24 years after starting as an engineering technician apprentice at Greenfield Engineering.
Frank will continue to support Greenfield by promoting the company, showcasing the highly automated engineering services and formidable manufacturing facilities to new customers across the UK helping introduce new market sectors into the business.
Frank Green said: “The last 29 years building Greenfield up with my wife Michelle from nothing more than an idea on a piece of paper to the multi million pound business that it is today has been immensely rewarding and a major part of my life. But you just know when it’s the right time to step aside and let the younger man with a fresh approach take the helm. Gary and I have worked very closely together over the years and I know he has great understanding to further develop Greenfield’s sheet metal service to the customers. We’ve both seen an ever changing UK manufacturing market, which we want to keep at the forefront moving forward as a business embraces new ideas and manufacturing methods. All this will only continue to give our customer a better service and ultimately a better product. I truly believe that there are great prospects for the business to carry on expanding and leading the way under Gary’s leadership. It’s an extremely positive move as Gary has always been focused on delivering on his customer driven performance targets. I know that with all of Gary’s unbridled passion, incredible engineering and management experience and the strong team around him they have all the right building blocks in place for a great future.”
Gary Burnard said: “During Frank’s tenure as Managing Director he’s done an incredible job instilling into us all a strong customer driven focus at Greenfield Engineering. He has built a first class team from nothing, which now boasts an extremely high level of engineering and management skills throughout the business. Also, reintroducing our own dynamic apprenticeship programme, having the vision and anticipation of giving Greenfield a readymade steady stream of new young engineers entering the business gives us a strong and exciting future. Handing the Managing Directorship to me will allow him time to step back a little and support the business were necessary, whilst spending more time with the family. I will strive to continue to move the business forward and deliver a commercially successful company both for the customers and shareholders.’’
