Greenfield have again been engaging directly with pupils at the recent Budehaven School careers fair. The young students from several year groups aged 11-16 were able to discover the different engineering disciplines offered within the company whilst also showing the wide diversity of the products and market sectors supplied. This event gave a great platform for the Greenfield team to showcase the business and meet potential candidates for 2017 intake. Within the coming months applications will be received and the start of interview process will commence.
“It’s very important for the young people attending this type of event to be able to discover the high-tech employment opportunities available to them in their local area. I trust by exhibiting at this career event that we have inspired and motivated young people in and around Bude. Greenfield are one of the UK’s leading precision sheet metal contract manufactures and with this can offer one of the best established apprentice programmes in the area. As a business we want to raise awareness of the benefits of apprenticeships, and work to change student and parent perceptions about engineering not being a long term career option. Through students getting involved in work experience weeks and parents visiting the management team seeing first-hand the high level of investment across the business and the cutting edge skills attained by staff. I know this will go a long way from removing the taboo around engineering. To find out a little more contact me direct.” Steve Killner Greenfield Training Officer.
