All manufacturing presents daily challenges and it’s pleasing to see yet another young home grown talent stepping into an important demanding position within the business. Lee Harris has taken over the Production Managers’ role vacated by internal promotion. Lee started with Greenfield from school as an apprentice so has over 15 years’ experience and a proven track record in Greenfield’s high demand production environment. Lee moved from being a cell Team Leader into a capacity planning role to support production last year. As the new Production Manager he will be directly responsible for linking capacity planning, workflow, operational performance, material management and cell leaders. This critical role in the business of production planning and implementation will be strongly linked with identifying areas to improve operational performance and drive continuous process improvement. The promotion follows Greenfield’s management expansion which reflects the company’s new targets and commitment to further develop the customer base in 2017/18.
“Lee has proved many times a keen ability to assess a manufacturing operation, prescribe an action plan for improving that operation or production demand; and implement it successfully without disruption. His experience in handling sheet metal which has been honed at Greenfield will see Lee further develop his lean principles and help bring us to the next level of excellence that much faster. I’m sure Lee will run a well organised team masterfully.” Simon Walker Operations Director.
