Fortunately Greenfield’s production across the two sites is managed by a Conveyancing Team who keep both sites and the shift operational. Components arrive in their respective areas regardless of driving rain and cold winds. The team are true unsung heroes of the business. Understandably this is an aspect of the business never really talked about to the customers, but we know how important these non-value adding processes are to Greenfield’s workflow. Tony, John, Roy, Nigel and Phil all go about their daily roles quietly and unassumingly, always with a smile on their faces, keeping production fully operational between the sites.

Nigel manages another important side of the operation, The Warehouse. Managing the receipt of different production materials, controlling stock batches, ABC stock rotation, material picking and conveyancing right through to despatch. Material conveyance is supported on site 1 by Roy, who keeps the raw materials fed to the sheet metal punching cells according to the production plan. All of these materials are booked onto the system at goods in with 2d bar-coded labels and then stock is allocated by batch at work issuing. Again Tony, John, Roy, Nigel and Phil work predominately in all-weather conditions, conveyancing materials and loading and unloading lorries. All the team also work extremely hard to keep waiting times for our suppliers’ deliveries down to a minimum with a planned goods in schedule which is driven by purchasing and the operations team.

“Greenfield are extremely proud of all the team and for many who never get the public acknowledgement and recognition they deserve in making the business the professional operation it is today” – Daniel Green – Operations Manager.
