Future Careers
Greenfield’s apprentice team was at hand at Holsworthy Community College to explain the career opportunities available to Year 10 pupils, as they showcased a range of different opportunities within the interesting engineering sector and specifically Greenfield Engineering. This is the annual Careers Fair close to the end of half-term, when around 40 students and their parents enjoyed seeing the interesting opportunities on offer.
The Careers Fair was attended by a range of colleges and organisations — from local colleges to other local businesses from around the area. The event ran from 4.30pm to 8.00pm, as students from Holsworthy Community College were able to access the many exhibitors and get up to date information and advice on different career ideas. The teachers and student feedback on Greenfield’s participation has been very positive with several interested individuals showing a keen interest in following up to find out more about our apprenticeship scheme.
Colin Hamilton Greenfield Training Co-ordinator commented: ”I was really impressed with the students, they all came with a mature approach and asked in-depth questions that you could see had been thought about. Several students expressed an interest that we will talk to later in the year with a view to looking at their grades and to discuss apprenticeships in more detail with them.
We look forward to seeing them later this year as we get closer to our 2019 intake this summer. I was very pleased with the excellent effort Holsworthy College had put in, to make everyone feel welcome and this event a great success for the students.”
