The ability to “earn while you learn” and getting a real hands on experience from industry experts are two of the main reasons why young people are starting to choose apprenticeships. This has become a real career alternative to university and all the mounting costs associated with the university route. Greenfield will be looking to recruit five more apprentices this coming academic year. Additionally, from day one there are benefits of potential progression routes in their career with many time-served apprentices holding key positions within the business. A large number of manufacturing leaders started out as an apprentice and we prove that this is the case with both Directors of Greenfield being Ex apprentices.
“Our apprentices are the lifeblood of our business and I am incredibly proud of the significant contribution they make to the design and delivery of our products. It is also very pleasing that we are seeing a massive swing and changing attitudes towards work-based learning and that’s reflected in the number of young students that are now choosing to go down the apprenticeship route as their first choice” Simon Walker Operations Director.
