Greenfield’s Health & Safety committee meetings have a structured approach highlighting the importance of creating a safe working environment. They provide a forum and agenda where corrective and preventative action is taken on any health & safety concerns or issues raised by staff. The agenda includes statistics on accident records, ill health, sickness absence, accident investigations and subsequent action, workshop inspections and risk assessments.

Employees active contributions to these safety management meetings encourages a working partnership where staff feel comfortable openly discussing and reporting anything that they feel needs addressing. This is a valuable tool in achieving accident prevention.

Simon Walker (Operations Director) added “It’s a great way of communicating with our staff, focusing everyone on Health & Safety. To have a structured review on all wellbeing issues is an effective means of the workforce being closely involved with our decision making through participation and engagement”
