At Greenfield Engineering, renowned for our award-winning apprenticeship program and high-level engineering expertise, we continually seek opportunities to strengthen our workforce in an evolving industry. Recently, Amada UK delivered an innovative and impactful tooling training seminar, significantly enhancing our apprentices’ understanding of turret punch tooling.

This structured classroom session, a vital component of our broader training strategy, provided an in-depth focus on the technical aspects of Amada’s NT turret punch range. Apprentices benefited from a clear and systematic approach to understanding punch tooling, including checking, maintaining, and troubleshooting potential operational challenges in production.

The seminar created a controlled learning environment that honed apprentices’ knowledge of core processes, such as:

– Tool selection and construction.

– NEX and NEX III tooling systems.

– Die clearance and shimming.

– Forming, tapping, and tooling condition monitoring.

– Daily maintenance practices.

This comprehensive introduction provides our first-year apprentices with a solid foundation, enabling them to confidently tackle more advanced tooling setups and optimize machine performance during their upcoming turret punch training.

We extend our gratitude to Amada UK technicians Edward Roe and Kieran Amphlett for their invaluable expertise and support. This training seminar plays a crucial role in the ongoing development and future success of our young engineers.
