Greenfield Engineering celebrates another successful year of its apprenticeship program, aimed at attracting local talent to rewarding engineering careers. Now in its twelfth year, the program continues to flourish, welcoming a new cohort of future engineers. Alongside our recent intake, our current 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year apprentices are thriving in their respective roles, integral to our long-term strategy of fostering a skilled workforce. As part of our commitment to social responsibility, Greenfield aims to bridge the STEM skills gap and broaden access to engineering through apprenticeships.
Operations Director Simon Walker, himself a former apprentice, emphasizes the pivotal role apprentices play in the company’s growth and development.
“As a company, we have always prioritized the training and development of the younger generation through our apprenticeship programme with great success. Not everyone understands the key benefits that come from a workplace/collage route gaining valuable on the job experience. This differs considerably than a more traditional full time academic avenue. Greenfield has made it our mission to challenge that ideology that an apprenticeship track proves just how valuable, skilled, and effective, we are at producing at the end of the program a more complete high-quality engineer. Giving a fantastic career progression within Greenfield as well as the industry we are so passionate about, manufacturing the backbone of any successful economy.”
