Greenfield recently held an interactive workshop at Holsworthy Community College aimed at Year 8 students, titled “Bridge the Gap.” The challenge tasked students with designing and building a bridge that could span a 40cm gap and support a 5kg weight using materials provided by Greenfield. Working against the clock with just 45 minutes, students collaborated, applied engineering principles, and tested their creations. Winners were awarded vouchers and stationery packs, fostering a deeper appreciation for STEM subjects and practical engineering skills.
Lee Harris, Production Manager, emphasized the importance of such collaborations: “It’s rewarding to partner with Holsworthy Community College, where we received a warm welcome. Introducing students to engaging problem-solving activities helps develop their teamwork skills. The enthusiasm and creativity shown by the students were fantastic. We hope to inspire interest in Greenfield’s apprenticeship program and look forward to future challenges.”
