At Greenfield, we take our environmental responsibilities and regulatory compliance extremely seriously. As part of our commitment to continual improvement, Greenfield operates Zero Waste to Landfill in accordance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards and ensures full compliance with UK waste and recycling legislation, including the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011.
Since 2005—long before segregating recycling materials became standard business practice. Greenfield has actively segregated & recycled all cardboard and packaging materials. Our waste is compacted into bulk mill bales of cardboard and plastics, significantly reducing handling, storage, and transportation requirements.
Our compactor and all waste storage bins, supplied by SWM are compliant with the EN16500 safety standard, enhances resource efficiency, supports onsite storage management, and adds measurable value to our recycling output.
Below are some of the key benefits of Greenfield’s sustainable approach to diverting waste from landfill:
- Reduced waste and transport costs through lower waste volumes and optimized collections.
- Improved storage and space efficiency by compacting waste into uniform bales.
- Enhanced waste management control with scheduled collections to maximize transfer efficiency.
- Reduced fire risk through safe and secure waste containment.
- Consistent bale sizing that supports stable demand and marketability of recycled materials.
