Greenfield Engineering (SM) Ltd is pleased to announce the latest addition to its manufacturing capability with the installation of a new Amada EGB 1303e press brake at our Waldon Way site.

The Amada EGB 1303e further enhances Greenfield Engineering’s sheet metal bending capacity, supporting the company’s continued investment in advanced manufacturing technology, automation, and production efficiency across its operations.

Designed to deliver exceptional levels of accuracy, repeatability, and energy efficiency, the EGB 1303e combines advanced servo-electric drive technology with intelligent machine controls to provide highly precise and consistent forming performance across a wide range of materials and component complexities. The machine offers 130 tonnes of bending capacity across a 3 meter working length, enabling efficient processing of both small intricate components and larger fabricated parts.  The all-electric bending system delivers significant advantages in both speed and operational efficiency. High-speed ram movement, advanced electric crowning technology, and intelligent angle correction systems help ensure consistent bend accuracy while reducing setup times and improving repeatability throughout production. Servo-electric crowning technology also allows dynamic asymmetric correction during bending, supporting high levels of precision even on complex or offset forms.

The EGB 1303e also incorporates advanced back gauge functionality, featuring independently controlled gauge fingers to improve positioning accuracy and provide greater flexibility when processing a variety of component geometries. Combined with AMADA’s intelligent AMNC 4ie control platform, the system supports fast programming, intuitive operation, and improved production efficiency across both prototype and volume manufacturing environments. The installation forms part of Greenfield Engineering’s ongoing programme of strategic investment in modern manufacturing infrastructure, enabling the business to further strengthen production flexibility, improve throughput capacity, and support increasing customer demand across multiple sectors.

Company Director Richard Green, commented:

“Continued investment in advanced bending technology remains an important part of our long-term manufacturing strategy as it’s core business for us. The addition of the Amada EGB 1303e strengthens our forming capability while supporting efficient, precise, and reliable sheet metal production for our customers. The machine provides excellent flexibility across a wide range of component types and enhances both bending accuracy and production efficiency throughout the business.”

The EGB 1303e complements Greenfield Engineering’s existing portfolio of advanced bending technology and wider automated manufacturing systems across its two production facilities. The investment reflects the company’s continued commitment to innovation, quality, sustainability, and long-term capability development within UK manufacturing.
