Advanced Inspection Technology

By 18 May 2026No Comments

Greenfield Engineering continues to invest in advanced quality control technology to support its growing powder coating and finishing capabilities.

As part of our ongoing commitment to process control, consistency and customer assurance, the business is introducing a range of specialist coating inspection and test equipment designed to support every stage of the finishing process.

The investment includes a Coatmaster Flex paint thickness gauge, providing non-contact coating thickness measurement with cloud backup and web data services. This supports faster inspection, improved traceability and greater control over coating consistency across finished components. To further strengthen oven performance monitoring, Greenfield is also adding a TQC SHEEN Curve-X4 oven logger kit, supported by magnetic and clamp surface probes rated up to 300°C / 572°F. This enables detailed temperature profiling throughout the curing process, helping ensure that coated parts achieve the correct cure conditions for durability, adhesion and long-term performance.

Colour consistency will be enhanced through the addition of both a Colorlite 45/0 colour gauge and an X-Rite RM200QC colour gauge. These instruments allow objective colour measurement and verification, supporting repeatability across production batches and helping ensure finished components meet customer expectations and specification requirements. The package also includes a TQC SHEEN Machu Test Bath, used to support corrosion and coating performance testing. This provides an additional level of quality assurance by helping assess coating durability and resistance in controlled test conditions.

Together, these investments further strengthen Greenfield Engineering’s technical capability in powder coating inspection, curing validation, colour control and coating performance testing.

Production Manager, Lee Harris commented;

“As coating technology and customer expectations continue to advance, the ability to accurately monitor and validate every stage of the finishing process becomes increasingly important. This investment gives us far greater visibility and control over coating thickness, cure profiles and colour consistency, helping ensure repeatable quality standards across production while supporting long-term process stability and efficiency.”

This latest enhancement forms part of Greenfield’s wider programe of continuous improvement, supporting the company’s commitment to precision manufacturing, robust quality systems and reliable finishing performance for customers across the UK and international markets.
