Nine and Counting: CNC Punching Capacity Expanded Again

By 17 August 2026No Comments

Greenfield Engineering has further strengthened its sheet metal manufacturing capacity with the addition of our ninth CNC turret punch press – another AMADA EMZ-3612 MII.

The latest investment continues the expansion and standardization of our CNC punching department, increasing available capacity while providing greater flexibility and resilience across our manufacturing operation.

Proven AMADA Technology

The AMADA EMZ-3612 MII is a high-performance servo-electric CNC turret punch press designed for productive and efficient sheet metal processing.

Featuring a 3050 × 1525 mm working range and 45-station Z turret with four Auto Index stations, the machine provides the flexibility required for the wide range of components manufactured at Greenfield.

Investing in another EMZ-3612 MII also increases standardization across the department, enabling production to be transferred between machines, workloads to be balanced and available capacity to be maximized.

Capacity That Supports Growth

The arrival of machine number nine follows the installation of our eighth turret punch press earlier this year and reflects continued demand across our punching operation.

Rather than allowing capacity to become a constraint, our investment strategy is focused on staying ahead of customer requirements and ensuring the manufacturing capability is available to support future growth.

Richard Green, Director at Greenfield Engineering, commented:

“CNC punching remains a hugely important part of our manufacturing capability, and the continued demand we are seeing makes further investment in capacity essential.

“Adding another AMADA EMZ-3612 MII gives us more than additional production hours. Standardizing around proven technology gives us greater flexibility, allows us to balance workloads between machines and provides additional resilience for our customers.

“Reaching nine punching machines is another significant investment for Greenfield and ensures we have the capacity available to support our customers as their requirements grow.”

Part of Continued Investment at Greenfield

Machine number nine forms another part of Greenfield Engineering’s wider investment programe across CNC punching, fibre laser cutting, automated punch/laser combination processing, CNC bending, robotic folding, powder coating, inspection, automation and material storage.

Our focus remains on developing the complete manufacturing process, ensuring increased capacity in one area is supported throughout the factory to maintain efficient production flow.

The arrival of our ninth AMADA CNC turret punch press represents another milestone in Greenfield’s continued development and reinforces our commitment to investing in proven technology, capacity and UK manufacturing.

Nine and counting – greater capacity, greater resilience and another step forward for Greenfield Engineering.
